This is just the most inspiring [and pedantic] site for homage to pre fab architecture in the form of the Futuro House. It is a design classic and really needs a fresh look at updating for the 21st Century.
The story is of a father and a son living in a property backing onto the Stockton to Darlington Railway that opened in 1825. A toy was modeled on the passing trains from old bits of scrap wood and somehow it has survived around 6 generations of children playing with it. Now it has shown up on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow.

In a partnership with the BRE, Barnsley College is setting out on a programme of new build sustainable housing and retrofit in an interesting collaboration between modern methods of construction, supply chain, skills providers, construction industry and hopefully some interesting designers. The process sounds more innovative that the video but all worthy.
